Information regarding frequency change on Hotbird satellite

BVN broadcasts worldwide, free of charge and unencrypted.

BVN, RNW-1 en RNW-2 are moving to a new Hotbird frequency from 15 July 2010.
In the period between 15 July and 15 August, BVN viewers will be able to switch from the old Hotbird frequency to the new one. In other words, for a period of one month you will be able to watch on both frequencies.

From 15 August 2010 onward broadcasts will no longer be available via the ‘old’ Hotbird frequency.

In order to receive BVN after 15 August 2010 you will need to retune your satellite receiver. This is a simple procedure which involves carrying out a channel search. You can perform a retune from 15 July 2010.

With most receivers it is simply a matter of pressing the MENU button on the remote control and selecting the installation menu. Choose an easy password (if required) such as 0000, 1111, 1234, 9876 or 9999 and then select the Channel Search option. This will read in all the channels available and both BVN and the RNW-1 and RNW-2 radio stations will reappear.

It can take several minutes for the receiver to read in all the channels. Once it has finished you will need to confirm the changes. With most satellite receivers this is carried out automatically. Then press the EXIT button on the remote control until you are out of the menu.
Your receiver will now add BVN to its list of channels again. With most receivers the "old" BVN will remain in the list, but you can remove this by hand later.

Our advice would be to wait until 15 August 2010 before removing the "old" BVN, RNW-1 en RNW-2, since it will then be easier to recognise them: the old BVN will have no picture and the old RNW-1 and RNW-2 will have no sound.

The new data is:

- Transponder: 115
- Frequency: 10,815 MHz
- Polarization: Horizontal
- Symbol Rate: 27500Msyb
- FEC: 5/6
